Capacity Fees are one-time charges that reflect the demands and costs created by new development or additional water and wastewater system capacity.
The fees are charged when new building permits are issued by the Town that are obtaining new water or sewer services. In Desert Hills, since the Town does not issue building permits, the capacity fee is due when the new water meter is requested.
The Town last updated the Capacity fees in 2022. The new rates were adopted by Ordinance 2022-09, passed 12-5-2022 and became effective on 4-4-2023.
